Pure Resourcing Solutions are supporting a well-established, international organisation in the search for a Senior Buyer to join their procurement function.
This is a key hire for the business, offering the opportunity to take ownership of strategic purchasing activity, influence supplier performance, and play a key role in driving commercial value across the supply chain.

Working closely with the Procurement Manager, you’ll lead on sourcing strategy and supplier engagement across a defined category base. Alongside managing complex negotiations, you’ll help shape procurement processes, support continuous improvement initiatives, and provide guidance to more junior team members.

The Opportunity
Working closely with the Procurement Manager, you’ll lead on sourcing strategy and supplier engagement across a defined category base. Alongside managing complex negotiations, you’ll help shape procurement processes, support continuous improvement initiatives, and provide guidance to more junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead sourcing activity, from supplier identification through to contract negotiation
- Manage and develop relationships with key suppliers, ensuring consistency in quality, cost and service levels
- Contribute to the development and delivery of procurement strategy
- Identify and implement opportunities for cost reduction and operational efficiency
- Oversee purchasing activity to ensure continuity of supply and effective stock management
- Monitor supplier performance, resolving any issues relating to quality or delivery
- Analyse market trends and spend data to support informed decision-making
- Support and mentor junior members of the procurement team
- Work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to align procurement activity with wider business goals
- Ensure all procurement processes meet internal policies and regulatory requirements
- Established experience within a procurement or senior buying role
- Strong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering value through negotiation
- Confident managing supplier relationships and influencing outcomes
- Experience contributing to or shaping procurement strategy
- Comfortable working with ERP/MRP systems and analysing data
- Highly organised with a proactive, solutions-led approach
- CIPS qualification (or working towards) would be beneficial
