The opportunity

Operations Director

We're seeking an experienced and dynamic Operations Director to lead and manage our operations team comprising Production, HSE, Engineering and Supply Chain. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our manufacturing facility, ensuring efficient production processes, maintaining high-quality standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The Operations Director will play a critical role in achieving our strategic goals and ensuring the continued long-term success of our business.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operational Leadership:

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the operations team.
  • Oversee the entire manufacturing process, from procurement to production to delivery.
  • Ensure that all operations are carried out in an appropriate, cost-effective way.
  • Implement and monitor key performance indicators to drive operational excellence.

2. Operational Excellence:

  • Build upon a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Oversee and improve the entire order-to-cash process.
  • Ensure the know how-transfer with other plants.

3. Health and Safety:

  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and company policies
  • Promote a safe working environment and  lead initiatives to reduce workplace accident and injuries.

4. Production Management:

  • Develop and implement production plans to meet customer demands and company objectives.
  • Optimise production schedules to maximise efficiency and minimise downtime.
  • Capture capacity and production data to help drive efficiency targets.

5. Quality Assurance:

  • Maintain and utilise the quality management system to ensure products meet or exceed industry standards and customer expectations.
  • Implement quality control measures and conduct regular audits to identify and address any issues.
  • Foster a culture of quality excellence.

6. Supply Chain Management:

  • Oversee the strategic development of the supply chain team, including management of key supplier relationships.
  • Oversee inventory management to ensure the timely availability of materials and minimize excess stock.
  • Implement best practices in logistics and distribution to ensure efficient delivery of products.

7. Financial Management:

  • Develop and manage the operations budget, ensuring cost-effective operations.
  • Monitor financial performance and implement measures to control costs and improve profitability.
  • Prepare regular reports on operational performance for senior management.

8. Team Development:

  • Invest in and develop a high-performing operations team.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment.
  • Set clear performance expectations and provide regular feedback and coaching.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Production Management and or Business Administration, or a related field. An advanced degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience in a senior operations management role within the manufacturing industry, preferably in HVAC or related sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and supply chain management.
  • Knowledge and experience of lean principles and their application.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic plans and drive operational improvements.
  • Financial acumen and experience managing budgets.
  • Detailed knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
